Job Title: Early Years Coordinator
Range of Pay: $23.50-$27.50/hour ($46,530-$54,450 annually) – dependent on experience and education

Hours of Work: 37.5hours/week, Monday-Friday, work hours scheduled between the hours of 8am and 5:45pm

Reporting directly to the C0-Executive Director, the Early Years Coordinator is an ongoing, year round position that is responsible for the oversight of our Early Years and Family Programs.
Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Co-Executive Director, the Early Years Coordinator position is an ongoing, year round position.

The Early Years (EY) Coordinator’s role is to oversee and direct the operations of the FGCA’s early years and family programs. The FGCA programs this position oversees are one preschool (3-5yrs), two all-day childcare spaces (0-5yrs) and two drop-in family programs. The EY Coordinator acts as a liaison and provides supervision and support to the early years and family management team as well as all front line staff. The coordinator works directly in program as a facilitator of the drop-in family programs. In addition, the EY Coordinator will be responsible for the administrative oversight of both program areas providing direction for development and growth.

 To oversee the operation of one Preschool Programs, Family programs, All-day, 3-5yr early years centre and all-day, 0-3yr infant-toddler program so as to maintain their effectiveness, fiscal viability as quality early years programs
 To lead and oversee a team of 12-14 Educators and frontline family program employees
 To lead the planning, ongoing development and implementation of low-cost or donation-based family oriented programs (Parent and Tot programs & Laugh, Learn & Lunch) for children aged birth to 6 years.
o The Early Years Coordinator works directly in the drop-in family programs (Parent & Tot (Wed.) and Learn & Lunch (Mon.)) as a program facilitator connecting with parents, caregivers, grandparents and children.
 To be responsible for legal and licensing compliance and adequate equipping of the facilities that house FGCA childcare programs in collaboration with the FGCA Rec & Facility Coordinator
 To be an advocate for the participants (children and caregiver) with particular attention to participants with special needs or circumstance which increase their barriers to service
 To create collaboration between programs that takes into consideration all the different programs’ needs and visions

 A valid ECE Certificate or have an equivalent combination of education and work experience
 Experience with the BC Early Learning Framework
 Relevant work experience with children aged 0-5 in a licensed child care setting
 Relevant work experience supervising a team
 Self-directed and confident when delivering quality early years programs
 Excellent inter-personal and customer service skills
 Solid record management skills and computer skills including experience with server based network and MS Office
 Must have strong written and oral communication skills
 Must hold a Standard First Aid and CPR (C) Certificate
 Able to obtain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
