Early Childhood Educator Full-Time – Competition #68
Are you eager to work in a high-energy childcare centre where the results of your efforts translate into healthy, happy children and families? The Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre is currently looking for an Early Childhood Educator to work full-time (37.5 hours per week) Monday-Friday at our Colwood location with hours of operation of 6:30am-5:30pm. Personal transportation is recommended due to limited bus service.
As an early childhood educator, you love what you do, and you’re excited to plan, carry out, and evaluate developmentally appropriate activities designed to encourage learning. You’re responsible and mature—a natural nurturer with a child-centred approach and experience working with children from infants-5 years. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills mean you’re at ease interacting with parents, community members, and fellow staff on a daily basis.
To thrive in this role, you have:
 A valid Early Childhood Educator license to practice (Infant and Toddler certification a plus).
 Current First Aid Certification.
 Knowledge and understanding of the issues that affect children of military families.
 A valid driver’s license (class 4 license a plus!) Who are we? The Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre is a non-profit organization with the responsibility of addressing the needs of military families. We provide programs and services that serve, involve and advocate for the military community and their families; which address the unique challenges of the military family lifestyle and will result in an enhanced quality of life. Our commitment is to journey towards a learning organization: an organization that uses tools to think and learn together, while communicating and cooperating. If you take pride in your work, care about providing for our Military families, and embrace an environment supportive of learning, then the MFRC is the place for you! We offer a positive work environment and a competitive compensation and benefit package (after completion of the probationary period) including an Extended Health, Dental, Long Term Disability, Life Insurance, Employee Assistance program, and a RRSP program after one year of employment (1950 hours). Other perks include paid sick leave and professional development opportunities.
A criminal record check will be required as a condition of employment for this position. A copy of the full job description can be found under the “About Us” → “Careers” tab on our website www.esquimaltmfrc.com. Please send us your resume with an accompanying cover letter describing how your experience meets the skills and requirements of the MFRC by email to mfrc.admin@shawcable.com with “Early Childhood Educator – Competition #68” in the subject line of your email application. A review of resumes will begin immediately, and the position will remain open until filled. The Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre thanks all applicants for their interest and advises that only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
