Arbutus Grove Children’s Centre is operated by Goosey Gander Kindergarten Association, a not-for-profit organization and registered charity, with a long history of providing outstanding early learning programs to the Greater Victoria community. Our centre is a bright and engaging purpose-built preschool with a large, natural playground surrounded by urban forest.
We offer half day and full day preschool programs for 3 and 4 year olds and a small after school program for kindergarten and grade one children attending Frank Hobbs Elementary. Our educators facilitate stimulating and engaging experiences that nurture each child’s sense of wonder, curiousity, and innate desire to learn through play, exploration, discovery, and creative expression.
We seek a positive, reflective, Early Childhood Educator keen to join our team of educators at a centre where you will be valued for your commitment to child-centered learning, collaboration, innovation, and keen interest to engage children with nature.

* A B.C. License to Practice as an Early Childhood Educator
* ECE Diploma or courses an asset
* An acceptable Criminal Record Check
* A First Aid Certificate that meets the requirements set out in the provincial Child Care Regulations
* A doctor’s letter verifying applicant physically, mentally, and emotionally fit to work with children in a demanding environment
* Ability to implement the principles and practices of the B.C. Early Learning Framework
* Ability to work collaboratively and supportively with our team of educators
* Ability to establish and maintain positive, respectful relationships with the children, families, and staff members.

HOURS: 35-40 hours/week (This could be shared as two 5 hour positions: 8:00am – 1:00pm; 12:30pm-5:30pm)
SALARY: $18-$22/ hour depending on education and experience
BENEFITS: 3 weeks paid holidays (Winter and Spring Breaks); sick leave; a comprehensive extended benefit package; continuing education funding
