Get those pancakes ready!

February is the time when maple syrup production begins, and there is no better way to enjoy this than at the BC Forest Discovery Centre’s annual Bigleaf Maple Syrup Festival. This festival takes place at the BCFDC on Saturday, February 4, 2012, from 10am to 4:30pm. We featured our own mini maple syrup event in November (see here) and it was a success!  If anyone wishes to follow up and learn more about this Canadian staple, this festival is one you should not miss!

There will be tapping demonstrations, mini-workshops, presentations, and even a maple syrup competition judged by local chefs.  

Maple syrup is not just for your Sunday morning pancakes either! Did you know that many folks agree that maple syrup is a wonderful gourmet ingredient to cook with? There will be cooking with local maple syrup, as well as maple foods available at the festival, so you can discover this for yourself!
